In southwestern China, a Tibetan prefecture in 2001 presented scientific evidence demonstrating that the city of Zhongdian was in fact Shangri-La, the mythical city imagined by James Hilton in 1933, in his novel Les Horizons Perdus.

When, in 2015, Mirka Duijn travels to the center of the sacred region of the three rivers, she was in a classical documentary approach, in search of the buried memory of Tibet, to make it emerge behind this Tibetan's Disneyland.

But the total adherence of local residents to this new history of the city, fashioned for tourists lacking exoticism, shaking the real and the false, by making disappear the border between the real and the fiction, undermines his research of the reality behind the presented story.
These testimonies then become, a magnificent pretext to install a new look at documentary practice.
